The research aims to find out which Armenian political party leaders use populist rhetoric and to which extent that rhetoric is used.
The Armenian political field after the Velvet Revolution is still in the process of stabilization. Many politicians struggle to find their place in this new political order. Thus, to win the approval of the citizens, they prefer using various propagandistic techniques and manipulations.
The research results will also produce a tool where the leaders of the principal Armenian political parties will be allocated according to the degree of their populistic rhetoric, highlighting a) against whom the rhetoric is directed, and b) what are the main topics of their populist discourse.Based on the research the tool will be created to give citizens the opportunity to get acquainted with the research outcomes in an engaging way.
